Charissa was born in Seattle Washington, United States on 4th May 1982. ESPN analyst was recruited in 2012 as co-host of SportsNation. She cohosted ABC show Splash along with Joey Lawrence. Thompson is a native of Seattle Washington. As the youngest of her 3 siblings, Thompson was aware that she wanted to be a broadcaster and was looking for from an early age. She was a graduate of Inglemoor High School located in Kenmore Washington. Thompson left Washington for California in order to enroll at one of the colleges for community students. She also gained California residency. Later, she transferred onto the University of California Santa Barbara in 2004, where she earned an B.A. In 2004, she graduated with the B.A. in Law and Society. Thompson says that, despite everything Sports Illustrated said about her having left Washington State for the community college of California after which she transferred onto UC Santa Barbara she never went to WSU. Thompson was approached via Sports Illustrated via email before she began her career as the sportscaster. They gave her the chance to paint her body in body paint for an issue with a Swimsuit issue.
